Each year, La Bordée presents its season's productions under a specific and engaging theme. For 2024-2025, the nine plays are united under the theme of change between the old and the new world: «Clash». This season features «L’assemblée Québec», «La fameuse Femme-Québec», «L’inframonde», «Dis-moi qui tu es, je te dirai ce que tu dis», «En attendant Godot», «Pas maintenant», «Grosse-Île, 1847», «Être ou ne pas être un douchebag» and «Vous êtes animal».

La Bordée

A clash is, first and foremost, a collision of values, opinions, and perspectives, offering different ways of interpreting reality. It sparks a heightened awareness of a new reality that demands adaptation.

The visual identity relies on bold and vibrant compositions, where condensed and duplicated typography conveys the inherent duality of the narratives. The posters play on the incompatibility of perspectives. The visual discomfort created by the typographic treatment and the contrast of colors leaves the viewer intrigued. With a more direct and even destabilizing approach, the eye remains hooked on visuals that become intriguing to decode at first glance.

The photographs, captured by Sam Billington, offer unusual perspectives where exaggeration takes precedence over esthetics. Overwhelmed by their surroundings, the actors maintain eye contact with the audience through extreme high-angle shots. The backgrounds feature textures that enhance the esthetic disorientation and provide unexpected clues about the plays.
